All buildings will be Open to the Public. ​


March 30 - April 1, 2018 - GCHS CLOSED for the Easter holiday


​May 26-28, 2018 - Memorial Day Remembrance

There will be a flag display for each branch of the United States Armed Forces in the front lawn of the Andrew Johnston House.  


August 25, 2018 - Bluegrass & BBQ - 5:00PM - 9:00PM
​​Join the Giles County Historical Society for a fun-filled Americana night! BBQ Pork and all the fixin’s provided by Hethwood Market. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy music by the Eight-Point Star Stringband. 

$15 per person. Children 6 and under free! 

Parking onsite at the Museum. Additional parking within one block of the property at the Post Office, Pearis Mercantile, the Giles County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center/Voter Registrar and the Courthouse.

October 13, 2018 - 10AM-5PM - Living History Demonstrations
In conjunction with the 4th Annual Pearisburg Scarecrow Festival, step onto the front lawn of the Andrew Johnston House and step back in time.  Enjoy a beautiful autumn day while you learn about frontier living and see displays of blacksmithing, weaving, leather making, cooking and other demonstrations of 18th century life.  


Park your car here at the Museum and then walk on down to the Scarecrow Festival on Wenonah Avenue!
