THE GILES COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

MAKING HISTORY MATTER.

RESEARCH CENTER

The Society operates a small Research Center on our property in what was once the Johnston family garage. The Collection focuses principally on the history, people, and activities of Giles County and it's towns and communities, while also containing materials on the history of Virginia as a whole, which led to the settlement and development of our area. The Collection includes hundreds of books and bound periodicals, other serial publications, manuscripts, maps, and pamphlets relating to the history of the community.

The Research Center is staffed by a professional librarian and a part-time genealogist.
